Overview

The Scaly-breasted Lorikeet (Trichoglossus chlorolepidotus) is a species of Old World parrot (family Psittaculidae) in the order parrots (Psittaciformes) of bird (class Aves).

Description

A medium-sized lorikeet. Green overall with yellow throat and breast giving a scaly appearance. The bill is red and the underwings are orange-red. Males and females are similar in appearance.

Range

Found in timbered areas of eastern Australia from north Queensland to the New South Wales south coast.
