The Yellow-eyed Junco (Junco phaeonotus) is a passerine (order Passeriformes) species of bird (class Aves) in the new world sparrow family (Passerellidae).

Description

Pale gray, rufous back and dark around the eye. White outer tail feathers. Yellow eyes.

Range

Found year-round in open montane woodland, primarily in Mexico, extending to mountains of the southern Arizona and New Mexico in the United States.
