The Dark-eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis) is a passerine (order Passeriformes) species of bird (class Aves) in the new world sparrow family (Passerellidae).
Small sparrow with large variation between populations. Adults generally have gray heads necks, and breasts, gray or brown backs and wings, and a white belly.
Found year-round across temperate North America.
