Overview
The Western Screech-Owl (Megascops kennicottii) is a species of owl (family Strigidae) in the order Strigiformes of bird (class Aves).
Description
Brown or dark gray plumage with streaking on the underparts, ound head with ear tufts, yellow eyes, and a yellowish bill. Unlike the cloesly related Eastern Screech-owl (Megascops asio) there is no rufous morph.
Range
Found forests, shrubland and desert habitats in western North America and Central America.
