Overview

The Lazuli Bunting (Passerina amoena) is a passerine (order Passeriformes) species of bird (class Aves) in the cardinal family (Cardinalidae).

Description

Adult males are blue above with orange breast, white belly and bold white wing bars. Females are buffy brown with orange breast and paler white wingbars.

Range

Found in shrubby hillsides and semi-open habitats in western North America.
