Overview

The Green Parakeet (Psittacara holochlorus) is a species of new world parrot (family Psittacidae) in the order parrots (Psittaciformes) of bird (class Aves).

Description

A medium-sized parrot, mostly green overall with a pink-yellow bill. Some birds have red speckling on the neck.

Range

Found from the southernmost tip of Texas in the United States south through Mexico to northern Nicaragua in Central America.
