The Barrow’s Goldeneye (Bucephala islandica) is a species of waterfowl (family Anatidae) in the order Anseriformes of bird (class Aves).
A medium-sized sea duck. Adults are similar in appearance to the Common goldeneye (Bucephala clangula). Adult males have a dark purplish head and a crescent-shaped white face patch. Adult females have a brown head and a mostly yellow bill.
Found in wooded lakes and ponds of northwestern North America and Iceland.
