Titmice (Baeolophus) is a genus of passerine (order Passeriformes) birds (class Aves) in the tits, chickadees, and titmice family (Paridae). Baeolophus is from Greek and means 'small crested'.
Titmice are small songbirds with drab plumage, short, stubby bills, medium-long tail, and a short tuft or crest that can be raised. Sexes are similar.
All titmice species are native to North America, are non-migratory year-round residents throughout their range.
