Overview

The Yellow-breasted Chat (Icteria virens) is a passerine (order Passeriformes) species of bird (class Aves). It is the only member of the family Icteriidae.

Description

Bright yellow-throat and breast, a white belly, white spectacles and olive upper parts. blackish legs and a thick blackbill. Sexes are simlilar.

Range

Found in dense shrubbery across much of the United States and Mexico, wintering to Costa Rica.
