The Violet-crowned Hummingbird (Ramosomyia violiceps) is a species of hummingbird (family Trochilidae) in the order Nightbirds (Caprimulgiformes) of birds (class Aves).
A medium-sized hummingbird with white underparts, dark olive green back, purple crown and a red bill with black tip. Females are less colourful than the male.
Found in arid scrub from southeastern Arizona in the United States to southwestern Mexico.
