Overview

The Sage Thrasher (Oreoscoptes montanus) is a passerine (order Passeriformes) species of bird (class Aves) in the mockingbirds and thrashers family (Mimidae).

Description

A medium sized passerine and the smallest thrasher. Pale grey-brown on the upperparts and white with dark streaks on the underparts, buffy wash on belly and sides and thin white wingbars. Long tail. Small, slightly downcurved bill. Yellow eyes. Sexes are similar.

Range

Found in dense stands of sagebrush in western North America from southern Canada to Mexico./p>
