The Red-legged Seriema (Cariama cristata) is a species of Seriema (family Cariamidae) in the order Cariamiformes of bird (class Aves).
A large predatory terrestrial bird. Greyish-brown overall with long red legs, long tail and tufty crest. The eyes are yellow with blue eyerings. Males are slightly larger than females.
Found in grassland habitats of central east South America including parts of Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia, Uruguay, and Argentina in elevations up to 2,000m (6,600ft).
