Roudi Escolar (Promethichthys prometheus) also commonly known as Purple Snake Mackerel or Single-line Gemfish, is a species of the class Actinopterygii (Ray-finned Fishes) in the family Gempylidae (Snake Mackerels) and order Perciformes (Perch-like Fishes).
