Overview

The Great Kiskadee (Pitangus sulphuratus) is a passerine (order Passeriformes) species of bird (class Aves) in the Tyrant Flycatcher (Tyrannidae) family.

Description

One of the largest of the Tyrant Flycatcher (Tyrannidae). A large black and white head, rufous wings and tail and yellow belly.

Range

Found in a wide range of habitats, from open grassland with scattered trees to urban areas. From southern Texas in the United States, through Central America to southern Argentina in South America, east of the Andes mountains.
