Overview

The Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) is a species of eagle (family Accipitridae) in the order Accipitriformes of bird (class Aves).

Description

Primarily dark brown. The bare portion of the feet are yellow. Sexes are similar.

Range

Found in remote, open country from grasslands to steppes and mountainous areas across much of the Northern Hemisphere.
