Overview

The Eastern Phoebe (Sayornis phoebe) is a passerine (order Passeriformes) species of bird (class Aves) in the tyrant Flycatcher family (Tyrannidae).

Description

A drab, medium-sized flycatcher. Plump witha a large head. Gray-brown above with darker head and paler below.

Range

It is migratory, wintering in the southernmost United States and Central America and breeding in eastern North America.
