Overview

The Andean Goose (Oressochen melanopterus) is a species of Ducks, Geese, and Waterfowl (family Anatidae) in the order of Ducks (Anseriformes) of bird (class Aves).

Description

A chunky goose having white plumage except for black in the wings and tail. A small pink bill and

and pink legs. Sexes similar but the male is larger.

Range

Found along lakeshores and marshes in the high Andes of South America, usually above 3,000m (9,800ft).
